Devotees experience
A Divine Journey with Bhagawan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba
In 2006, I came to know about Bhagawan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba through my dear friend Mr. Mark Ananda, a New Zealand citizen, and a devoted follower of Bhagawan Shree Sathya Sai Baba. Mr. Ananda often visited Nepal and had met Shree Sanjay Sai Baba in His ashram there. He showed me a photo of Him, then just 18 years old. I was astonished to witness the subtle resemblance to Shree Sathya Sai Baba. Through Mr. Ananda, I invited Swami to India—and to my joy, my invitation was accepted. On October 6, 2006, Shree Sanjay Sai Baba landed in Bangalore.
Seeing Swami in a simple white kurta-pyjama, smiling and waving from the airport as if He had known me for ages, was overwhelming. As someone already in Shree Sathya Sai Baba’s fold, I instinctively began comparing Shree Sanjay Sai with Shree Sathya Sai in every gesture, word, smile, and miracle. It felt like beholding Shree Sathya Sai Baba once again.
Very soon, my entire family—except my wife—became devotees of Shree Sanjay Sai Baba. His love was deeply blissful, guiding and protecting us through each step of life. Swami began visiting our home in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, from 2006 onward. One of my long-standing prayers to Shree Sathya Sai Baba had been that He visit my home, and that was beautifully fulfilled through Shree Sanjay Sai Baba.
A Miracle and My Wife’s Transformation
My wife, Smt. Vijaya Nagesh, was a devout follower of both Shirdi Sai and Sathya Sai. Yet she initially found it difficult to accept Shree Sanjay Sai. In 2006 and 2007, she would rarely sit near His divine feet.
During Swami’s 2008 visit to Chikkamagaluru, Baba looked at her lovingly and said, “Amma, why do you want to go to Vasanthi for the holy water? I shall give you a Lingam.” She was momentarily puzzled. Swami continued, “..That Vasanthi to whom I gave the Lingam during Shivratri about 40 years ago. She does abhishekam and gives the holy water to devotees who come to her in Brindavanam.” My wife was astonished—how could Swami know of her visits to Smt. Vasanthi for the holy water?
A few days later, Swami was seated with us in our living room. Suddenly, He began pressing His chest, and to our amazement, a beautiful golden Hiranya Garbha Lingam emerged from His divine mouth. He called my wife and gifted the Lingam to her. It was warm, heavy, and solid gold. Swami instructed us to keep it safely locked and perform abhishekam every Monday before 6:00 a.m., chanting the Mrityunjaya Mahamantra 21 times in pure water and distributing the holy water to devotees.
That year, Swami had come specifically to attend the Shata Rudra Yagna we were performing. Just prior, I had attended the Ati Rudra Maha Yagnam conducted by Shree Sathya Sai Baba in Prasanthi Nilayam. There I had fervently prayed to invite Shree Sanjay Sai Baba to grace a Rudra Yagna in our home.
Manifestations of the Divine
As the Yagna commenced, a two-foot-tall Bhanu Lingam was brought into the Sai Hall for abhishekam. Swami graciously asked me to bring the Hiranya Garbha Lingam He had manifested the day before. It was reverently placed at the base of the Bhanu Lingam, and the priests began chanting the sacred mantras. Swami Himself was seated far from the Homa Kunda, quietly observing.
Then came an extraordinary moment. As the abhishekam began, Shree Shirdi Sai Baba manifested within the Hiranya Garbha Lingam. The priest, visibly confused, began rubbing his eyes, unsure of what he was witnessing was real. He called out to us, and we all rushed forward to witness the divine spectacle.
Just as suddenly as He had appeared, Shirdi Sai Baba’s form faded—and in His place stood Shree Sathya Sai Baba, radiant and moving before our very eyes. Awe-struck, we watched as He too vanished, and now Shree Sanjay Sai Baba appeared before us in full form.
The priests and devotees were overcome—speechless before such divine play. All eyes turned to Shree Sanjay Sai Baba, seated calmly in His chair, seemingly unaffected and immersed in bliss. Meanwhile, within the Lingam, Baba’s presence continued to flow—smiling, blessing, and radiating luminous energy.
Throughout the Yagna, Swami remained visible in the Lingam, bestowing blessings on all present. Even after the rituals concluded, the Lingam pulsed with His vibrant presence. With great reverence, I took it inside, heart full of gratitude and wonder. But how could I remain with Swami in the Lingam while He was also seated in the Sai Hall? Smiling to myself, I whispered, “Sorry Baba, I have to keep you locked up,” and returned to Swami, still blissfully seated.
What a mind-boggling, soul-stirring miracle! From that moment onward, my wife was transformed. Her devotion to Shree Sanjay Sai Baba became complete, and she never left His divine lotus feet.
The Fulfillment of All Prayers
All the prayers I had once poured at the Divine Lotus Feet of Shree Sathya Sai Baba have been answered—and far more—by this present Avatar, Shree Sanjay Sai Baba. He is the embodiment of love, grace, and divine wisdom.
An Avatar is that which descends from the formless into form—to uplift humankind and merge it with the source. The formless divine chooses different manifestations through the ages—from Rama to Krishna, with longer gaps—and from Shirdi Sai to Sathya Sai and now Sanjay Sai with shorter divine intervals. We are blessed to be among the chosen ones in His fold.
I am eternally grateful for Swami’s ever-flowing divine love and the immeasurable blessings bestowed upon my family. Words alone cannot express our reverence and appreciation.
Jai Sai Ram! 🙏✨
