Life Story of Shree Sanjay Sai Baba

Bhagwan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba descended on this sacred land of Nepal on 19th January 1989 to divine Mother Maiya Devi and Father Santosh Kumar in the holy city of Kathmandu. His divine mission is to re-establish the principles of righteousness and inspire love for God and humanity.

Historic Background: The Prediction of His Divine Birth

Shree Jai Brikhnath Kapali, a devoted follower of Lord Nataraja, once received a divine darshan (vision) of Lord Shiva during a meditative state. Pleased with his unwavering devotion, Lord Shiva blessed him with an extraordinary boon, promising to incarnate in the lineage of the Kushal clan. This prophecy was affirmed by numerous sages and saints, who foretold the birth of an avatar in this esteemed lineage.

Shree Jawaharlal Kapali, the grandson of Shree Jai Brikhnath Kapali and grandfather of Bhagwan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba, was a deeply spiritual soul. He composed bhajans, served the needy, and guided his family on the spiritual path. His contributions included establishing a school for local children and translating the Ramayana into the Newari language.

Santosh Kumar, Jawaharlal Kapali’s elder son, married the virtuous Maiya Devi on 12th March 1979. Maiya Devi, a devout follower of Lord Vishnu, observed the Satyanarayana Vratha with unwavering devotion. During one Satyanarayana Katha and Puja held near her home, Maiya Devi experienced a divine vision after consuming the sanctified prasadam. That very night, Lord Satyanarayana appeared in her dream and blessed her, assuring her that He would enter her womb through His divine will—a miraculous pravesh (divine conception), not through conventional means (prashav).

Divine Manifestations Leading to His Birth

After this remarkable blessing, miraculous events began to unfold in their home. A divine fragrance filled the air, the family altar lamp ignited on its own at night, musical instruments played spontaneously, and sacred mantras echoed without any human intervention. The family was in awe of these occurrences.

Grandparents and parents frequently received darshans of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, affirming the sanctity of the events. On the auspicious day of 19th January 1989 AD (6th Magh 2045 BS), during a propitious moment, Bhagwan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba was born in a modest house in Killagal, Kathmandu.

Leelas (Divine Play) in Infancy

During infancy, Maiya Devi often found her child’s hands filled with vibhuti (sacred ash). The baby’s radiant face resembled the sun, captivating everyone who saw Him.

One day, the mother discovered a large snake coiled near the baby, its hood spread protectively over His head. Despite the family’s attempts, the snake refused to leave and eventually disappeared behind a photo of Lord Vishnu on the wall—leaving the family astonished. Shree Jawaharlal recognized the snake as Shesha Naag, the divine serpent, who had come to pay homage to the divine child. This and many other miraculous events revealed Baba’s inherent divinity.
