Devotees experience
My Divine Journey with Shree Sanjay Sai Baba
We (I and my wife) were blessed to be associated with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for more than 25 years. I served as the Convenor of Borivali, Kandivali, and Dahisar Samithi of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, Maharashtra, India.
Shree Sanjay Sai Baba, our beloved Bhagawan, was scheduled to visit Mumbai on 4th December 2013, I had participated in the preparatory work for this first Divine visit. Having lived in the fold of Sri Sathya Sai for more than 25 years, it was difficult for us to accept another form of Sai. In this dilemma, we prayed at Parthi for guidance—whether to accept this new Avatar, Shree Sanjay Sai.
During my Shashtiabdapūrthi (60th birthday) celebrations, we visited our Kula Devta and Puttaparthi. After Samadhi darshan, we met Krishnadas uncle, a close devotee of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba. He shared how much he missed Swami’s physical form. When I mentioned Shree Sanjay Sai Baba’s visit to Mumbai, he reassured us: “Bhagawan can appear in whatever form He wishes. Nowhere has Sathya Sai said that there cannot be a person who looks similar to Him.” I took this as Swami’s answer to my prayer and went for Shree Sanjay Sai Baba’s darshan on 5th December 2013.
That morning at Sai Abode in Mumbai, after darshan, I left for Office. My mind was entangled in a web of thoughts. I prayed to my beloved Satya Sai for a sign that both forms were one and the same.
At that very moment, my wife called to share that Shree Sanjay Sai Swami had manifested a small idol of Mahalakshmi and lovingly instructed her to worship there itself, since she was not accompanying the temple visit. For me, this was the divine confirmation I had prayed for—my lingering doubts melted away.
Thus began my joyous journey with Bhagawan Shree Sanjay Sai, the Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient.
Grace Beyond Dreams
Once, in Mumbai, Shri Pratapbhai, the Chairperson of Shree Sanjay Sai Seva Organizations, International, and I were talking about Swami appearing in dreams. I remarked, “Swami never comes in my dreams.” At that very time in Kathmandu, Nepal, Swami was on way returning to the Ashram from Shree Sanjay Sai Vidya Mandir school when He suddenly burst into joyous laughter. Samin Sairam, who was accompanying Him, asked the reason. Swami lovingly replied, “Gopal feels I do not appear in his dreams. When I am granting him darshan and conversing with him directly, why should I come in dreams?”
Kolhapur Trip – Multinational Company (MNC) Grace
We were part of a Divine trip to Kolhapur via Lonavala and Pune. Our train to Kolhapur was scheduled for the following night at 10 PM. We spent the day in sightseeing and Satsang with Bhagawan Shree Sanjay Sai Baba. My original plan, however, was to return to Mumbai to attend an important business meeting in Gujarat with a MNC Company. Shri Pratapbhai kept telling Swami, “Gopal is not coming to Kolhapur.” Though he insisted that I join the Kolhapur trip, I maintained that I would go back for the meeting. Again, during tea time, Pratapbhai repeated, “Gopal is not coming to Kolhapur.” This time Swami told me twice, “If it is necessary, go.” I surrendered and prayed, “Swami, I will come with You; please take care of the meeting.”
We had the blessed darshan of Mahalakshmi and returned to Mumbai. After Swami left for Kathmandu, I called the Purchase Officer coordinating the project to ask about the meeting. He said no one had turned up and that he would inform me of the next schedule. A week later, when I called again, he said the meeting was called off and the project had been awarded to me. I was speechless—for without any technical meeting or presentation, the project was given to my company. For a MNC to award a contract to a first-time supplier was nothing but Swami’s boundless grace.
Kailashyatra with Kailashpati – Mansarovar Yatra, May–June 2019
During Shivaratri 2019, Swami declared we would go to Mansarovar in May. Seventy-one pilgrims, along with our Kailashpati Himself, made the sacred journey.
The landscapes—mountains, rivers, forests, cultures—were breathtaking. I considered this the Vishwaroopa darshan Swami granted us. Near Saga in Tibet, I felt chest and shoulder pain but dismissed it as spondylosis. We were in a bus, while Swami was in SUV. Suddenly, I had a vision of Swami entering our bus, rubbing my chest, and blessing me with Abhaya Hasta.
By evening, in the hotel, I was shivering severely and required oxygen. Devotees around helped me, covered me with warm clothes and bedsheets, massages were given to warm up. After some time I felt alright and cheerful. As I got up to go to washroom, I started shivering and felt pain in chest and shoulder. The guides advised us to return immediately to Kyirong (Kerung), Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Though we longed to see Swami before leaving, His message came: “Follow the guide’s instructions.” Miraculously, during the five-hour journey back to Kyirong, I had no health issues. Later, Kumar Iyer informed me that I had suffered a severe heart attack—taken upon Himself by Swami.
After reaching Kathmandu, we tried to prepone our return tickets to Mumbai, but the airfares were exorbitant. By Swami’s miracle, we managed to secure tickets for INR 22,000 each. Upon arrival in Mumbai, I went directly to my family doctor for a thorough check-up, accompanied by Mr. Pratap Thakker and Mrs. Preeti Jhaveri. To our astonishment, all my reports came normal, showing no signs or symptoms of a heart attack.
During Guru Purnima, my wife asked Swami if we had erred during the yatra. Swami replied, “No mistakes.” Then He revealed: “I fought with Yamaraj and brought Gopal back. I have given him rebirth.”
On 25th May 2019, I was gifted life anew. What greater miracle can there be than rebirth itself?
Eternal Protection
We remain in tears of gratitude, overwhelmed by the Lord’s boundless love. His grace protects and guides us at every step. Truly, Tvam Sharanam Mama—I surrender to You, my Lord.
